Carved black cinnabar beads stud lengths of delicate filigreed chain. A light, airy, statement-maker.
 
The beads are quite possibly vintage, although I'm unsure of their exact provenance. Cinnabar is an interesting material: a chemically inert form of bound mercury. So it's safe to wear and touch and possibly even eat (don't do that though). If it's heated the chemical bonds that hold the mercury against the sulpher are broken though, so don't set this necklace on fire and then huff the smoke.
